No, with GivenGain's latest event page functionality, a charity needn't create a campaign on their charity profile first, to be used with event fundraising.
An event page will now automatically create a campaign page on behalf of the charity, when
- that charity is linked to the event page by the event organizer, or
- when a fundraiser selects that charity on the event page (for open events), thus linking the charity to the event.
The new logic has the following advantages:
- It saves the charity the effort of having to create a campaign page on their charity profile first, then having to contact the charity to add the campaign to the event.
- It ensures that an event is not linked to the incorrect campaign of a charity.
- It ensures all projects that should form part of the event will be linked as intended.
- Charities are still able to edit the auto-created campaign page as needed.
