On a charity campaign or fundraiser project donation page, donors can choose to give anonymously without their details being visible to the charity or fundraiser (they’ll still be required to provide their details to GivenGain), or they may choose to provide the charity with their details as before.
If the donor has selected the anonymous option, the donation notifications and donor reports will display the donation as “Anonymous” to the charity and to the public on the campaign or project page.
Note:
- A UK donor's details (email address and billing address) to any charity or a donor's details (email address and billing address) to a UK charity will be visible to the charity if the donor gave their GDPR consent.
- A US charity will be able to view an anonymous donor's full details (name, email address and billing address) in their donor reports (view more here), but will follow GDPR consent rules for UK donors.
- More information can be viewed in the charity's exported donation report (Reports > Donations) in the following columns:
- Anonymous
- Consent To Share Personal Data
Note: As the charity, you have full control over the anonymous donation option for campaigns. To disable the anonymous option for a specific campaign, simply log in and edit the campaign page, uncheck the "Allow anonymous donations on this campaign" box and save.
To disable the anonymous option for all donation pages, visit Settings > Account and uncheck the "Allow anonymous donations" box and save.
