When you log in as a charity admin user and select Events (next to Charity in the top navigation), you’ll see two types of event pages in the left-hand menu:
- Organiser
- Partner
Organiser Event Page
Purpose
An Organiser event page is used when your charity wants to:

- Receive donations for a specific programme, project or funding need (for example, your education programme).
- Allow individuals to fundraise for your charity through a personal initiative, such as celebrating a birthday or taking on a personal challenge.
Important: Organiser event pages are not used for fundraising linked to public events on GivenGain (such as the Boston Marathon). For these, charities will need to refer to the Partner event page section.

- Is created by your charity.
- Is managed and edited by your charity.
- Replaces the "campaign page" offered on a charity profile.
- Accepts donations directly through the event page.
Partner Event Page
Purpose
A Partner event page is used when individuals are fundraising for your charity as part of an organised event page on GivenGain, such as a marathon, cycle race or swim.
A Partner event page is used when individuals are fundraising for your charity as part of an organised event page on GivenGain, such as a marathon, cycle race or swim.
The event organiser creates the event, and participants create individual fundraising projects linked to your charity.

- Is created and managed by an event organiser (such as a sporting event, company or team).
- Cannot be edited by your charity.
- Is linked to your GivenGain charity profile.
- May allow fundraisers to select your charity when creating their fundraising project, if the event supports fundraising for any charity.
Event page lifecycle
Fundraising deadline
Once an event reaches its fundraising end date (typically one month after the event end date), the Start fundraising button is removed.
This prevents any new fundraising projects from being created, while existing fundraising projects remain available for donations.
Archived events
When:
- an Organiser event is archived by your charity, or
- a Partner event is archived by the event organiser,
the Give button is removed from the event page, preventing any new donations. Any fundraising projects linked to that event are also automatically archived, and their Give buttons are disabled.
